Intel eight core processors 2011

The desktop processor segment selection LGA 2011 is limited to models with six and four cores, which due to Hyper-Threading technology support can simultaneously handle 8/12 threads. The range of AMD processor Zambezi will include several models with eight physical cores.

Intel company plans for the next six months to release the platform Romley-EP for work stations and entry-level servers which will use Sandy Bridge-EP processors LGA in 2011, eight physical CPU cores with support for Hyper-Threading.

This is supposed to be with 3.0 GHz frequency in a single system ensures 32 virtual cores and support 64GB memory quad organization. Cache in the third level reaches an impressive 20 MB - for desktop models, this feature is limited to 15 MB. The level TDP of this processor is equal to 150 watts.

Here is a screenshot(floating all over web) of the processor Sandy Bridge-EP with eight cores and 2.3 GHz frequency, it also has 20 MB of cache in the third level, TDP value in this case does not exceed 130W.
